adjective: 1 not consistent or having a fixed pattern; liable to vary. 2 able to be changed or adapted.
noun: a variable element, feature, or quantity.

Music Is Variable is about music and things music-related.  Music can’t be categorized, pinned down, pigeon-holed or boxed in.  Like life, music varies constantly.

I’ve always tried to avoid categorizing my music.  Sometimes it’s better to leave out the flowery descriptions and just listen for the sake of listening.  Here, you’ll find my own original music and remixes along with occasional samples of other people’s music I listen to and support.  I hope you enjoy the unpredictable randomness of it all as much I do.  Thanks for stopping by.

About Me

I’ve been producing original music and remixes since the 1990s.  My sound is a mixture of electronic production, real instruments, samples, and lots of experimentation.  I’m inspired by soulful, timeless, and personal music from all over the place.

I’m primarily an ‘electronic music’ producer but I play guitar, keyboards and percussion for my own songs and for other people’s productions.  Beyond instruments, I am a die-hard fan of music software and plug-ins.

I’ve DJ’d and performed at various venues in Washington DC, Los Angeles, Atlanta and other places, and been featured on radio shows like the BBC Radio 1’s Bobby Friction and Nihal, BBC Asian Network’s Adil Ray, Galaxy Network UK, Generasian Radio, Friday Night Sessions, Samurai FMSix Degrees Traveler, Ethnotechno.com, Soul Patrol, and others.

I’ve been lucky to produce remixes for my musical friends and inspirations such as Karsh Kale, Ryukyu Underground, Kidgusto, Sharaab, Alpha & Omega and others.  Oftentimes, I hunt down audio bits and pieces to give someone else’s music my own twist.  Artists like Dierdre, Midival Punditz, Steve Spacek and others have inspired me to create new versions of their music.

You’ll find loads of music to check out in the Get Music section.  I’m always interested in collaborations and remix projects, so contact me if you want to work on something together.
